My Car Won’t Start and It is Cold Out!

With Kansas City weather in the teens right now a lot of folks can’t start their cars.  The cold weather will drain an older battery of its power, so you may need to get a jump start.  Not a bad idea to carry your own jumper cables in the trunk in such a case, it is a lot easier to find a car to jump start you than to find one with jumper cables.  A lot of emergency kits now include them.  Make sure you park where another car will have access to the battery if it needs to jump start your car.  Once you get it started, let it charge for a little while and not a bad idea to get a new battery to avoid the hassle of jumping, you are going to need a new one soon anyways.  Also, if you have a newer battery and your car still doesn’t start, the problem could be your starter, if the starter goes bad, it doesn’t matter how new your battery is.
